Moses & Israel After the 10 Commandments
By the end of this unit you will be able to demonstrate understanding in response to the following questions:
· In what ways do the people of Israel demonstrate a lack of faith in God Exodus?
· How does God demonstrate Grace towards the people of Israel?
· What lessons can we learn about God from this story?
· What lessons can we learn for our lives from this story?
1. Read Exodus 24 & 32 and answer the following questions:
· What did the people of Israel promise to do?
· How did God Seal this covenant?
· What was it like when Moses was on the mountain top?
· How did the people of Israel forget the promise they made to God and did they demonstrate their faithlessness?
· What was God intention concerning the disobedient Israelites? What did Moses do to intercede on their behalf?
· What actions and steps did Moses take when he saw the people’s sin?
· Why did Moses go back up the Mountain?
· How does God reply to Moses’ request?
Due Monday, April 21
2. Read Exodus 16,: Numbers 11, 13, 14, 16; answer the following questions.
· What were the people grumbling about in Exodus 16 & Numbers 11 and how did He respond?
· How did the people demonstrate their faithlessness and disobedience in Numbers 13, 14?
· What did God intend to do to the Israelites in Numbers 14, how did Moses intercede, and what were the eventual consequences for their sin and disobedience?
· Who fostered rebellion against Moses and how did God deal with them?

3. Read Numbers 20:1-13, 27:12-22; Deuteronomy 6 and 31 and answer the following questions:
· What did Moses do to lose the privilege of leading the people of Israel into Canaan?
· How did Joshua become the new leader of people of Israel?
· List the commands God gives the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 6?
· What does Moses tell the people in Deuteronomy 31? What does he have them do with the law God has given them?
· What commands does God give Joshua in Deuteronomy 31?

Evaluation (Due Monday, May 5)
In a well written essay based upon our reading in this unit evaluate the following statement:
Out of his love for them and in interceding for the children of Israel when they were faithless and disobedient and deserving of God’s wrath, Moses appealed to God’s covenant promise and His glory to prevent the peoples’ destruction. Jesus does the same for us today.
Project (Due Friday, May 16)
In groups of 3 or 4:
· Research and create a model or drawing of the tabernacle. Each part of the tabernacle should be labeled including the dimensions
· Type an explanation document that describes what was in each part of the tabernacle, the function of each part of the tabernacle, and what and when certain activities took place
· At the end of the explanation document briefly explain the theology of the tabernacle.
